Workshops for this week
All workshops are
in the Camera Club Studio Classroom and do not require a sign-up.
Intermediate Digital Photography Workshop
Thursday, March 22, 9:30 to
11:00
"Resizing Images for Making Prints" presented by Al Crawford
A repeat of a workshop given in January. One of the main purposes of taking
photographs is to turn them into prints. This might be small
prints such as 4"x6" or it might be large prints up to the 13" x 19"
that the printers in the camera club can print. Al will present
some of the better ways to crop and resize prints to make your prints
in the most nondestructive ways possible. Also how to resize for
e-mail and other computer viewing will be covered.
Time will be given at the end of
the session for questions and answers.
Advanced Digital Photography Workshop
Thursday, March 22, 1:30 to 3:00
"An Introduction to Adobe Lightroom" presented by Al Crawford
Adobe Lightroom is
a new Adobe product that would work well for advanced users of both
Photoshop CS2 and Elements. It includes a Library module which
helps organize your images and a Develop module which is based on the
Adobe Camera Raw 4.0. The develop module will work
non-destructively with JPEG files as well as with Raw files. It
also contains a print module, a slideshow module, and a web
module. And it is not done. Lightroom is designed for third
parties to develop additional modules that will work seamlessly with
the rest of the product. With emphisis on the Library and the
Develop modules this product will be demonstrated.
Black & White Study Group
Friday, March 23, 9:30 to 11:00
"Kitchens and Garages" a discussion lead by Nancy Spear
This week we look at photographing things from the kitchen or
the garage. Make ordinary things into beautiful
photographs. As you photograph this week, think about the
ordinary. Bring
your successes and past failures to class for us all to talk
about.
Featured Website of the Week
Each week or so a website will be featured here.
Digital Photography Review
-- This is the place to go for reviews for the latest and greatest
things in digital photography. Everything from the most simple
point and shoot to DSLRs to printers and accessories. And don't
forget the forums. There are five forums on Canon cameras, four
on Nikon cameras, forums on just about any brand of camera there
is. There are forums on professional photography (which has
topics for advanced ameratures), on lighting techniques, on PCs and of
course on MACs. There is a learning section, a glossary of terms,
a buying guide, links to other places, and a bunch of other
things. Bookmark this page. It is worth a frequent visit.
