All workshops are in the Camera Club Studio Classroom.

Photoshop CS Workshop

Wednesday, January 10, 9:30 to 11:30
"Fine-tuning your prints for exhibit with Adobe Photoshop CS2" - Instructor - Don Spear

Intermediate Digital Photography Workshop

Thursday, January 11, 9:30  to 11:00
"Non-destructive Techniques" presented by Al Crawford
Principle:  Do not changing any pixels in your image until you absolutely have to
Techniques will be presented by Al that will allow you to dodge and burn without altering pixels in the original image.  And, if you make a mistake, you can easily correct your mistake since the original is still unchanged.  Furthermore, you can use the clone tool and the brush tool in a similar manner.  A basic understanding of dodge & burn and the clone tool is all that is necessary to understand this lesson.

Time will be given at the end of the session for questions and answers.  All demonstrations will be done with Photoshop Elements.

Advanced Digital Photography Workshop

Thursday, January 11, 1:30 to 3:00
"Adobe Lightroom and the Bridge" presented by Al Crawford
Layers have blending modes and brushes have blending modes.  You can have self blending of layers (the blending of a layer with a copy of itself) but you can also blend two different images for interesting effects.  And you can use blending modes in techniques for sharpening, dodging and burning, converting to black and white, etc.  Al will present some of the uses of blending modes as well as pointing the way to experimenting in further techniques.

In addition, a brief discussion of the new CS3 will be presented.

The presentation will be made using Adobe Bridge and Adobe Lightroom.  Don't let the word "Advanced" scare you off, you may well enjoy seeing what these tools can do.

Black & White Study Group

Friday, January 12, 9:30 to 11:00
"Converting from Color to Black & White" presented by Al Crawford
Black & White Photography goes back to the roots of the art.  Bob Johnson started this study group a couple of years ago and continued it until his health no longer permited him to continue.  This is the second session of the restart of the study group.

If you have an interest in improving your photography plan to attend this study group.  There will be some of the "old timers" who have attended the study group in the past giving their input.  And there should be many "first timers" who are beginning photographers attending as well.  There will be something for everybody.

Also bring some of your black and white photos to share with the rest of the group.  This will help you and everyone else to improve on their photography.
